WATAIN: More Video Footage Of SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL Performance Available
June 17, 2010After completing the regular portion of their set at this year's Sweden Rock Festival on June 12, Swedish black metallers WATAIN returned to the stage for a unique 45-minute tribute concert featuring classic BATHORY songs. The event was made even more special as the BATHORY part of WATAIN's performance was introduced by none other than late BATHORY mainman Quorthon's father and producer, Börje "Boss" Forsberg.
Fan-filmed video footage of concert — including the BATHORY portion of WATAIN's performance — can be viewed below.
"Lawless Darkness", the fourth album from Swedish black metallers WATAIN, sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 42 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Lawless Darkness" was released in Europe on Monday, June 7 in a limited three-panel digipack edition with die-cut and a cover of DEATH SS' "Chains of Death" as a bonus track.
"Reaping Death", the new CD single from WATAIN, which was exclusively distributed in Sweden via Sweden Rock Magazine, was certified gold in the band's home country on April 21 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. (Note: Each copy of the magazine sold in Sweden was counted towards the certification.)
